Chairman Christensen opened the Board of Equalization meeting.  Roll call was answered by Rex Christensen, Chairman, and Commissioners Doug Teaford, W.E. O’Connor, C.W. Baltzell and Lonnie Peters.  Also attending the meeting were County Clerk Sandra Olson, County Attorney Randy Fair and County Assessor Cheryl Schiel.   O’Connor moved to approve the agenda, Teaford seconded the motion.   Peters, Baltzell, O’Connor, Teaford and Christensen voting aye; none voting nay; motion carried.  Peters moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, Baltzell seconded the motion.  O’Connor, Teaford, Peters, Baltzell and Christensen voting aye; none voting nay; motion carried.

 

Schiel and the Board discussed possible ways of handling special value in the County.  Dave Peterson was present to express his concern of value placed on accretion ground.

 

The Board and Schiel discussed if the Assessor’s Revised Property Value Recommendation form should be used at protest hearing time.  Teaford moved to use the recommendation form, Baltzell seconded the motion.  O’Connor, Peters, Teaford, Baltzell and Christensen voting aye; none voting nay; motion carried.

 

 Baltzell moved to authorize Chairman Christensen signing the Correction Book, Peters seconded the motion.  Teaford, O’Connor, Baltzell, Peters and Christensen voting aye; none voting nay; motion carried.

 

Schiel presented the Board with the exemption applications for tax exemption on real and personal property by qualifying organizations.  Hearings will be scheduled for these organizations at a later date.

 

With no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned.
